A Legacy of Southern Craftsmanship
Teal & Parkway was founded on the belief that a truly great gift should be a one-of-a-kind discovery. Based in Greenwood, South Carolina, our studio is dedicated to the heritage of manual woodturning—a craft that demands precision, a refined eye, and a deep respect for the natural character of the wood.
The Hand of the Artisan
Every Teal & Parkway piece begins as a hand-selected block of native hardwood. Ethan Hayden turns each item on a manual lathe, eschewing automated templates and mass-production in favor of a focused, intentional process.
By following the organic "map" of the wood—the swirling grains of Black Walnut, the luminous depth of American Beech, and the rugged character of White Oak—Ethan allows the final form of the piece to reveal itself in the moment. The result is a sculptural, one-of-a-kind work of functional art that can never be exactly replicated.
Our Philosophy: Rustic Meets Refined
We bridge the gap between the raw, honest textures of the South Carolina woods and a sophisticated, modern aesthetic. Our pieces are finished with a meticulous eye for detail, treated with the same care as a fine gallery sculpture. Whether it is a signature standing opener or a hand-turned scoop, our pieces are designed to be striking visual statements—heirlooms that bring a sense of history to the home bar or kitchen.
A Family Legacy
Teal & Parkway is a family-owned and operated studio, led by Ethan and Jessica Hayden. For us, this craft is a shared journey: Ethan brings the vision to life at the manual lathe, while Jessica curates the brand’s aesthetic and guides the studio’s growth. Our young son is a constant presence in our daily lives, growing up amidst the hum of the workshop and the scent of freshly turned wood—learning early on the value of hard work and the beauty of a handmade life.
We are proud to contribute to the rich tapestry of Southern craftsmanship and to share our work with you. When you choose a Teal & Parkway piece, you aren’t just purchasing a tool; you are investing in a piece of handcrafted history and supporting our family dreams.
